Earning College Credit in High School
NCCC provides opportunities for students to earn college credit while still in high school. This is called concurrent/dual credit. Concurrent/dual credit is when one class counts for both high school and college credit. NCCC offers concurrent/dual credit in the following ways:

Take a course on your high school campus.

Take courses on an NCCC campus.

Attend classes online when it work for your schedule with regularly scheduled online class times.

Take a hybrid course! Meet in person during designated class times and complete class work online.
Step 1: Apply
New to NCCC? Your first step is to apply. It's quick and free to apply!

Step 2: Course Placement
Certain English and Math courses have requirements to enroll. Your eligibility can be determined in a few ways:

GPA: Your high school counselor will provide a copy of your transcript with your enrollment form.

ACT Scores: Test scores can qualify you to enroll in these courses.

Placement Testing: If your GPA does not qualify, you can take the ACCUPLACER (a college placement test).

Step 3: Enroll
Meet with your high school counselor to discuss your educational goals and select courses. You will complete an enrollment form and a release of information form. The student must sign both. Returning students should complete their Personal Information Update (PIU) in anticipation of this meeting.

Step 4: Payment
Payments can be made online, in person, or by mail. Tuition is waived for high school students for certain Career and Technical courses. Course fees, textbooks, and required apparel may be an extra cost.
