Internet Policies:
Chapman Library
Addendum to the Neosho County Community College
Computer Resource and Internet Usage Policy
In the fulfillment of its mission to provide a comprehensive program which
serves all segments of its community," Chapman Library provides public access to
the Internet.
Guidelines for Internet Use:
1. Online computer terminals at Chapman Library are not to be used for e-mail,
chat rooms or on-line games. The Library is an Information agency and its
computers are essential for locating and using information resources on the
campus online catalog and Internet.
2. No information can be downloaded from the Internet to the online computer
terminals at this time; but information can be printed out on the Library
printer.
3. You may not use your own software programs on the Internet access computers.
4. The computers should be used in a responsible manner. This means avoiding
physical or other damage to the computer, not using it for illegal or commercial
purposes, and, since it's located in a public area, not displaying on-screen
explicit images. Misuse of the computer or Internet access will result in the
loss of your computer privileges.
Objectionable Material.
Chapman Library does not physically monitor patrons' use of the Internet. NCCC
has no control over information and images available through the Internet and
cannot be held responsible for its contents. The Internet may contain
information and images you consider objectionable, inappropriate or unreliable.
Minors Using the Internet:
Parent and guardians, not the library or its staff, are responsible for the
Internet information selected and/or accessed by their children. Parents or
guardians who wish to allow their children (under the age of 18) access to the
Internet must sign the permission slip, located below, and return it to the
library. Only students who have a signed form on file will be allowed to access
the Internet without a parent or guardian present.

I have read the Chapman Library Addendum to Neosho County Community College
(NCCC) COMPUTER RESOURCE AND INTERNET USAGE POLICY.
I will not hold NCCC liable for any loss of information or damage to data,
disks, or computers resulting from use of public access Internet at the library.
I release NCCC and its personnel from any and all claims and damages of any
nature arising from my child's use of NCCC's Internet access, including, but not
limited to claims that may arise from the unauthorized use of the system to
purchase products or services.
I understand that Chapman Library does not physically monitor Internet access to
students, NCCC has no control over the information and items available through
the Internet and cannot be held responsible for its contents or the reliability
of the information accessed.
I, as the parent or legal guardian of this minor, give my permission for him/her
to access the Internet at Chapman Library, Neosho County Community College.
