Chapman Library Mural

The Martin and Osa Johnson Safari Museum was started in 1961 and has become
a multi-faceted research center and educational institution.  It honors the extraordinary team
of Martin and Osa Johnson, who pioneered documentary nature films in Africa during the 1920’s.
The museum is housed in the 1903 Santa Fe Depot building with the Chanute Public Library.
