Mrs. Rhine holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Pittsburg State University and has been the NCCC Allied Health Coordinator since 1997. She received Instructor certification from the Kansas Department of Health & Environment in 1990 and is qualified to teach CPR, CNA, CMA, and CMA Update courses and Alzheimer certification. She lives in Chanute with her husband, Lester, and her sons Zach and Bryce.

Ms. Jurgensen received her Bachelors degree from the University of Kansas in Medical Record Administration in 1981. She has held various positions in Health Information Technology since then, including manager, director and quality control coordinator. Along with her position with NCCC, she also holds a full-time position as the Manager of Health Information Management at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Joplin, Missouri. Ms. Jurgensen is also currently pursuing her Masters Degree from Pittsburg State University in Technical Teacher Education.

Mr. Erwin has been employed with the NCCC since 2005. Mr. Erwin holds credentials as a registered respiratory therapist (RRT), certified respiratory therapist (CRT), registered pulmonary function technologist (RPFT), certified pulmonary function technician (CPFT), registered medical assistant (RMA), certified insurance & coding specialist (NCICS), certified medical assistant (CMA), registered cardiopulmonary technologist (RCPT), certified cardiology technologist (CCT), certified professional coder (CPC), certified coding associate (CCA), home health administrator (state of OK.), emergency medical technician, exercise specialist (YMCA), rehabilitation specialist, cardiovascular technologist and a nutrition specialist. These registrations and certifications have been accumulated during his many years of work and education experiences in the health care field.
Jean brings to the classroom his work experience in the areas of, medical assisting, billing and coding, respiratory home care, respiratory therapy department management, cardiopulmonary diagnostics, cardiopulmonary rehabilitation, and vocational education.

Ms. Robb has two children, Ryan and Laura, five grandchildren, Emily, RJ, Samantha, Jessica, and Elizabeth. Her family is very important to her and she loves to travel. Ms. Robb is retired from a full time 30 year career in social services and enjoys the opportunity to work part-time for NCCC with the Lifetime Learning Program.

Ms. Kinzer moved to Chanute in September 2003 and joined the Outreach and Workforce Development office as Administrative Assistant in February 2004. Ms. Kinzer brings with her thirty plus years of clerical experience. While beginning her new job at NCCC, she also attended and graduated from the Kansas Massage Institute in Topeka.

Mrs. Hart is a 2000 graduate of Humboldt High School and has been an Administrative Assistant in the Outreach & Workforce Development department since 2005. She lives in Humboldt with her husband, Josh, and their three children, Caleb, Addison, and Asher.

Mr. Chaney has lived in Kansas, Missouri, New York, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, and Colorado. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School in Nebraska. After High School, his family moved to Concordia Kansas where he graduated from Cloud County Community College. He worked construction for a couple of years and then moved to Hays KS where he earned his BS in Psychology at Fort Hays State University. Denver Colorado was his next move, where he worked in adolescent shelters and psychiatric units. He returned to KS and FHSU to complete his MS in Counseling in Higher Education and worked for the University as a Residence Hall director for 5 years. He met his wife Lisa while at FHSU. They moved to Southeast Kansas in 1995 where he was employed with SRS as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor in the Chanute Area. They reside in Erie, where they started their family with two wonderful children Heather, and Collin. Lisa is employed at Greenbush Education Center as a Research Analyst. After more than 11 years with SRS, Mr. Chaney is enjoying the opportunity to return to assisting students in post secondary education reach their academic, career, and life goals as Director of the STARS, Student Support Services program.

Mr. Kramer hails from Pasadena, California and graduated from Imperial High School in 1995. He then started college at Ambassador University in Big Sandy, Texas. In 1997 he was informed of the imminent close of University because of funding issues; graduated with an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts, and Transferred to Texas A&M University- Commerce in Commerce, Texas. He completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Radio/TV in 1999 and worked at KSHB Channel 41/38 in Kansas City, Missouri for a short time. It was at this time that he became very active in Summer Camp Ministry and worked as a Canoe Instructor and Wilderness Leader in Orr, Minnesota during the summers from 1999-2001. He also served as a lead counselor at a bi-annual Christian camp in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma from 1999-2003. Following a short respite in Colorado, Mr. Kramer went back to Texas A&M University in 2003 and started a Master’s program in Counseling. During his time at TAMU-C he worked as a counselor in the Counseling Center at the University. He graduated with his Masters of Science in Counseling and received his Certification as a Nationally Certified Counselor in 2005.

Mrs. Bell is the STARS English/Reading Specialist at Neosho County Community College. She started her tenure at NCCC in July 2001 as the Director of Public Relations. In July 2002, she moved into the Director of Enrollment Management and Marketing position. A year later, she began working on an abbreviated contract as the Director of Public Relations and Marketing, allowing more time to focus on pursuing her master’s degree. In her last semester of graduate school, she began teaching as an adjunct instructor for NCCC. After completing her degree in December 2004, she also began teaching as a part-time lecturer in the communication department at Pittsburg State University. In September 2005, Mrs. Bell was hired into her current position at NCCC as the STARS English/Reading Specialist. She continues to teach part-time at Pittsburg State and works on contract in public relations for NCCC helping cultivate external relationships with college constituents. Mrs. Bell earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Communication from Pittsburg State University. She and her husband Brad and their two sons, Bryce and Gage live in rural Neodesha.

Mrs. Drybread began working for the STARS program in May 2001. She also teaches developmental math as an adjunct instructor for NCCC. She received her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education from Pittsburg State University. Currently, she is pursing her master’s degree in education from Friends University. Mrs. Drybread, a native of Colony, Kansas, resides on the lake in Buffalo with her husband Shane and their three girls, Kayla, Hannah, and Erin.
Upward Bound

Mrs. Collins has been working with the Upward Bound Program for five years and is currently the director of the program. She has greatly enjoyed her time spent with NCCC and finds the position with Upward Bound very rewarding. She has a Bachelor's Degree from Kansas State University and a Master's Degree from Texas A&M University. She lives in Chanute, Kansas with her husband, two children, two cats, one dog, and 100 sheep. Her free time is spent remodeling the house, managing the clothing store she owns in Chanute, volunteering at the First Christian Church, and traveling.

A native Kansan, Mrs. Bertles has lived the past 16 years in Franklin, Ohio. She returned to Kansas in August, 2006 and started work with the GEAR UP Grant and NCCC shortly after that.
Mrs. Bertles has a BSE in Art and Psychology from Emporia State and a MS in Special Education from Pittsburg State. She taught high school for several years before she became the Student Teaching Supervisor for Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she worked for 6 years. She was then employed by Dayton Public Schools as a Special Education Program Supervisor for 4 years.

Mrs. Bertles and her husband, Dave, live in Neodesha. They have two grown sons.

Mrs. Lefebvre-Davis is the newest member of the ABE /GED team. She hails from Springfield, Massachusetts and is a graduate student pursuing her MA at Pittsburg State University. She has taught the ABE/GED satellite program at Fort Scott Community College since April 2007. Since that date the program has had over twenty participants and eight successful students who have received their GED. Some of these students scored in the ninety-ninth percentile nationally! Mrs. Lefebvre-Davis also has worked on various archeological digs with the National Park service. She is pursuing her MA in history and archeology.
