Nursing
Hybrid Program

Beginning in Spring 2007, the 2nd level of the nursing program (RN level) will be offered using a hybrid format. Students will be admitted to the hybrid program in the fall and the spring of each year. LPNs may “bridge” into the program, and current students may apply to continue on via the hybrid program. Students will be required to attend class seven times in a 6 week period, during which orientation, tests, learning laboratory and clinical learning will occur. Hybrid students will be intermixed with on-campus students for the learning laboratory and clinical learning experiences. Students will be expected to arrive early on the scheduled day or the evening before to pick up their clinical assignments and prepare for the clinical experience. Students may be required to schedule additional times during the week to practice nursing skills in the learning laboratory. The majority of the didactic portion of the courses will be taught asynchronously using an on-line format including narrated powerpoints, viewing videos via the internet, and participating in discussions through internet forums. Please click on the technical requirements link below to view the minimum requirements. Additionally, students may/will be required to find a proctor to administer all exams. Exams will be given via the internet so the proctor and student must agree on a location for the exam to be administered where internet access is readily available. Additional information regarding proctored exams will be available in the course syllabus. Students interested in the hybrid program should click on the link below and take the Elearners Advisor quiz to assess for on-line learning readiness.
