Lige Stewardson joins the Panther Coaching Staff for the 2009-2010 campaign after completing a Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from the University of Texas in 2007 and a Masters Degree in human development and psychology from Harvard Graduate School of Education in 2008.  Coach Stewardson is a USATF Level II certified coach in endurance/mid distance events and was named by the US Olympic Committee and USA Track and Field as an Emerging Jr. Elite Coach in 2009.

 

While a student at Harvard Stewardson served as a volunteer assistant coach under head coach Jason Saretsky.  Last fall, the Crimson defeated arch-rival Yale for the first time in this decade.  The men finished fifth at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championships for its best finish in six years.  The women also finished fifth, their best performance since 1999.  Stewardson has also worked for the Texas School for the Blind and Visually impaired as a volunteer track coach.  She was an assistant coach under Tim Menke for the 2006 North Hopkins High School cross country camp in Colorado and worked as an assistant for the University of Oregon Running Camp in Eugene in 2008.
