Piedra- NJCAA Academic All American
Neosho County
Community College sophomore Melanie Piedra was named NJCAA
Academic All-America.
Piedra carried
a 3.81 GPA while studying Radiology. The centermid leaves
Neosho to purse a degree at The University of Fort Smith
Arkansas next fall.
The criteria
for this award is to have completed 3 full time semester and
participate in at least one season here in athletics. The
distinguished academic award is for 3.8 GPA or better and
the academic All American award is for a 3.6 GPA or better
1) The 2009
Schedule
The Lady Panthers released the 2009
schedule. The ladies first match will be in St. Louis against
Forest Park on August 28th at 7pm and the following day they
will take on St. Charles at 4pm. The first home game for the
ladies will be on September 9th at 7pm against Hutchinson.
Soccer
Releases Spring Schedule
The Neosho County Community College Women's Soccer announced the
spring schedule on Monday, which features games in two weeks.
Included in that short period of time, five home games will be
played at the Chanute Sports Complex.
The first game for the Panthers is the Quad Scrimmage, which
includes Allen County, Coffeyville, and Independence on April
14. On April 18, the Panthers
will play a doubleheader at the Chanute Sports Complex.
The first game will be against
Washburn University (MIAA Conference) and the second contest
will feature
Avila
University (Heartland America Athletics Conference).
The Panthers will head to Joplin, Mo to play in the Missouri
Southern 7 V 7 Open Tournament. Teams that are expected to be at
the Invitational will be John Brown, Avila, Missouri Southern,
Roger State and NEO A&M. All times
are local to site and are subject to change.

Women's Soccer
place three on the All Academic Team for the KJCCC
The Neosho County Community College
Women's Soccer team placed three on the 2008 Academic All-KJCCC
first team. Among the Panthers named to the Academic All-KJCCC
first team were sophomores Andrea Holloway, Melanie Piedra and
freshman Sade' Bosewell. To qualify student-athletes must
maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher the pervious semester.

into the Community
The Lady Panthers went to Thayer
Community Church. The ladies showed kids at the community
how to play soccer and also taught the kids some new moves on
the ball.
The Lady Panthers finish the Season in
Double OT
The Neosho County Community College Women's Soccer team loses
a close one in double overtime at Butler Community College. The
final score was 1-0 2OT. The ladies were lead by sophomore
Sarah Kirkwood, Meghan Orr, Melanie Piedra, Britney Neubecker,
Andrea Holloway-Scott and Kristen Harmony. Great Season
Ladies!
Neosho Women's Soccer Finish 5th in the
Region
The Lady Panthers finish the regular
season 9-9-1 and 7-4-1 in Region VI. The ladies will travel to
Butler Community College on Monday (Oct. 27th, 2008) at 2pm for
the first round of playoffs. Good Luck Lady Panthers!
Lady Panthers win 7th game in the Region
The Lady Panthers bounce back with a
win in the Conference and Region. This is the Ladies seventh win
in the Region. Meghan Orr had a goal and assist for the
contest, in which puts her at 10 goals and 9 assists for the
season. The Panthers out shot the Lady Conqs 39-4 but
could only find the back of the net twice. The improve to 7-3-1
and fifth in the region. The next match for the lady panthers is
against Butler at 7pm. This will be the last regular season home
game for the lady panthers.
Neosho win outside the Region
The Lady Panthers win against Ozarks
Christian College 8-0 in Joplin, Mo. The Panthers had six
different scorers in the contest and out shot the opponent
25 to 1. The next match is against Barton County on Wednesday at
5pm. GO LADY PANTHERS!
Lady Panthers get their 6th win in the
Region
The Neosho County Community College Women's Soccer team won
its 6th game in the region this year, with a 2-0 win over
Coffeyville. The Lady Panthers had two different scorers in the
game. Sarah Hoover scored in the first half and Kayla Bell
scored the second goal in the contest. The ladies panthers are
now 6-2-1 in the region.
