Assistant Coach John Hill III

Coaching Career: John enters his second year as a Panther coach after spending three years at Pitt State, and will work with hitters, and defense along with recruiting and field duties. As a hitting coach at Pitt State, Hill helped the Gorillas earn a pair of NCAA Division II national rankings in 2005. They were 5th in batting average at .355 and a slugging pct. of .540. He also helped them set new fielding percentage records in 2005 and 2006. Hill also serves as the head coach of the Nevada Griffons in the Jayhawk League in the summers. He guided the Griffons to a 9th place finish in the 2005 & 2006 NBC World Series.
John played collegiately at Baker University for 2 seasons after transferring from Highland Community College after his 2 years there. He earned All-Conference honors in 2001 and 2002 at Baker. He had a .352 career batting average and a .514 on base percentage during his collegiate career. Following his senior year at Baker, Hill played a season professionally in Germany for the Tuebingen Hawks of the German Major League. He also has international experience playing in Venezuela, Peru, Holland, Belgium and the Czech Republic. John earned a bachelors degree in physical education from Baker in 2003 and a masters degree from Pittsburg State University in 2005.  John is engaged to be married to Lindsay Sowder who is the Neosho volleyball coach.
