The summer of 2009 saw 2 HUGE projects that are now completed as of July
10, 2009. The first was putting a new drainage system under the outfield
to quickly drain the field. After 17 postponed games in 2009, it was
time to fix the problem. Special thanks go to Kevin Pargman of
Irrigation and Turf of Iola who designed it and put it in with the help
of his crew. Thanks also go to Mallori Murry, Patrick Deao
and Zack Murry who also have helped on the project.
The 2nd
project was the brand new top to the scoreboard. It turned out beautiful
and was donated by Clint Isaac and Chanute Manufacturing. A lot
of work went into this at Chanute Manufacturing before it arrived at
Hudson Field. Clint took on the project and designed it and built it,
then brought it to Hudson Field for all of us to see for many years to
come. I can not thank Clint and his crew enough for the all of the work
and the material that they gave us. Also working on the project were
Neil Haynes, Norm Curtis, and Ben Smith who all spent all
day plus installing it in 96 degree heat. We thank you all very much.
Also helping were Mallori Murry, Zack Murry, Cameron
Coronado and Grant Gastineau. We also want to thank all of
them too. One more thanks goes to Cleaver's Farm and Home of
Chanute who donated the lift that you see in a lot of the pictures below.
Hudson Field has taken a new and improved look and we thank all of those
