Chad Wampler of Haslet, TX has signed to wrestle for Neosho CCC next year. The Northwest H.S. product from the Fort Worth area is a 3 time state placer that included a runner up finish this year. Over the course of his career he accumulated a 148-22 win/loss record in high school. Chad will be in the 174-184 range.
Marcus Sullivan of Iola, KS has joined the Panther wrestling program. He began his wrestling career as a sophomore and in his 3 years of wrestling he compiled an overall win-loss record of 82-25, which included qualifying for the state championships twice and a Regional Championship this year. Marcus will be at 157/165 next year.
Le’Roy Barnes of Benton, MO has signed to wrestle at Neosho CCC next season. Le’Roy placed 4th as a junior and 3rd as a senior in the Missouri State Championships. He most recently won the Missouri State Greco Roman Championship and finished 3rd in freestyle. Look for Le’Roy to go 133 or 141.
Another signee is Adam Wakefield out of Rochester, PA. He is 6’8” 300 lbs and known by his friends as “Big Wake”. Adam made it to regionals his senior year in the always tough PA post season. A workout fanatic, Big Wake will be a large factor at 285 for the Panthers.
Zane Shannon from Ardmore, OK will join the Panthers next year after placing 3rd at state in Oklahoma twice. He finished his career with a 93-13 record.
Joining the team next year will be Jonathon Barnat of Bixby, OK. He will likely compete at 157 after being a state qualifier.
Returner Jeff Vesta at 125 who will be a red-shirt soph next year finished the season with a 4th place finish at the NJCAA championships earning him All American honors. His record was 33-11 with tournament championships during the regular season at the Baker Open, Jet Invitational, Denker Open, and the Kansas Cup. He also placed 2nd at the Central Missouri Open, 3rd at the Kaufman/Brand Open, and 4th at the West/Central NJCAA Region tournament. A Manhattan H.S. product, Jeff is the oldest son of Jeff and Connie Vesta.
Returner Edwin Gutierrez at 174 who will be a soph next year. Edwin finished the season as a national tournament qualifier finishing 3rd in the NJCAA West/Central Region tournament. His record for this past season was 15-15 with very noticeable improvement the second half of the season. He also placed 2nd at the Jet Invitational. Edwin is from Dallas, TX
New to the team next year at 157/165 is Cody Hill of Blanchard, OK. Cody was a multiple state tournament placer with 3rd, 2nd, and 2nd finishes before his senior season when he was injured just before regionals knocking him out of his State Championship quest.
Newcomer Cole Carr of Sperry, OK will join the team at 197. He has two 3rd place finishes the past two seasons at the Oklahoma State Championships. His junior year he was at 189 and his senior campaign was at 215.
Billy Evert of Blue Springs, MO will join the Panthers at 285 next season. He finished 2nd in the big class in the Missouri State Championships in 2010.
Troy Clark, a hometown product of Chanute, will join the team at 141. He finished his H.S. career with a 3rd place finish in class 4A at the Kansas State Championships. Troy also just claimed the Kids State Championship. He has over 130 career wins during H.S. and 2 Regional Championships.
A familiar name to the team, Zach Vesta will be the second of this family to join the team. He projects at 133 and finished his senior year with a 3rd place finish at the 6A Kansas State championships.
Signing with the Panthers is Andrew Higgins of Hilliard, OH. Higgins finished 3rd in the always tough state tournament of Ohio this past season and added national recognition by finishing 5th in the Senior National tournament at 160. Andrew is projected at 165.
Joining the Neosho CCC wrestling team is Desmond block of Lawton-MacAuthor H.S. in Oklahoma. Desmond is coming off a 3rd place showing at the Oklahoma 5A state tournament and a win at the Oklahoma All State meet. He projects at 174.
Collinsville, OK high school teammates joining the Panthers are Corey Snow and Josh Pennington. Both are multiple state tournament qualifiers with Snow finishing 3rd at state as a junior and the same for Pennington this past season. Snow projects at 165 and Pennington at 149.
Signing with the Panthers recently is B.T. O’Hara of Columbus, KS. B.T. is a multiple state qualifier with two 3rd place state finishes under his belt. He projects at 149.
