Lady Panthers Split at Cowley
The Neosho County Softball team traveled to Arkansas City to take on Cowley College and they came home with a split. Winning Game One, 5 to 4 and then falling in the nightcap 8 to 3. Leading the way for the Lady Panthers in Game One were Jordan Brown who had 2 hits in the game including a double, Kaitlin Wilson had 2 rbi’s and Kyllie Sill had a triple and 2 rbi’s. All of the scoring for the Lady Panthers occurred in a 5 run fourth inning. Cowley came back and scored 4 in the sixth but Kyllie Sill was able to hold them off and pick up the win. Game Two was a different story as Cowley scored two in the second and never looked back as they went on to win 8 to 3. Kelsey Ingram led the Lady Panthers in Game Two going 3 for 4 with 2 stolen bases and a run scored. Jordan Brown picked up 2 more hits in the nightcap as well, Hannah Anderson and Kyllie Sill also each had two hits for the Lady Panthers.

Lady Panthers Sweep Cottey
The Lady Panthers Softball Team traveled to Nevada, Missouri on Thursday to take on Cottey College. The Panthers won 13 to 3 in the first game and 14 to 1 in the Game Two. Stevie Gibson had 3 hits yesterday including a single and double in Game 2. Samantha Chesnut went 3 for 3 in Game 2 with an RBI and 2 stolen bases. Hannah Anderson hit her second home run of the season and drove in 5 runs in the 2 games including a 3 for 4 performance in Game 2. Jessica Dale also had a good day as she picked up two hits in Game 2 including a triple in which she managed to make it all the way around bases after the right fielder missed her cutoff.

We had to cancel today's (3-8-2011) game. We are rescheduling Allen for the 31st at 2-4.
Lady Panther Softball Opens Conference with Sweep
The Lady Panther Softball Team opened conference play on Tuesday with a sweep of the Coffeyville Red Ravens. In Game one Neosho scored six first inning runs en route to an 8 to 5 win. Jordan Brown had a triple and Kelsey Wilson had two singles in game one. Coffeyville tried to rally as they hit homeruns in the 4th and 7thinnings to close the gap. Kyllie Sill picked up the win in game one. In game two, Coffeyville jumped out to a 5 to 0 lead and then the Lady Panthers scored six in the third inning to take a 6 to 5 lead. Neosho went on to win the game 10 to 9 in eight innings as Kaitlin Wilson hit a walk off double with two outs and runners on first and second. Traci Pletcher also had a good day at the plate in game two as she had two doubles for the Lady Panthers. Kyllie Sill came on to pitch in the seventh inning and picked up the win in relief.
Lady Panther Softball Goes 2 and 3 in Tishomingo
The Lady Panthers traveled down to Tishomingo, OK over the weekend and came away with a 2 and 3 record. The weekend was highlighted by Kaitlin Wilson hitting a grand slam and Jeana Craig hitting two more home runs to move her total up to 3 on the season. Mary Ann Greer and Kyllie Sill each came away with a victory for the Lady Panthers.
Lady Panther Softball Opens Season with Two Wins
The Lady Panthers went on the road to open their season at North Ark Community College. In Game 1, freshman Pitcher, Kyllie Sill struck out 14 and allowed 1 hit as the Lady Panthers won 5-0. Freshman catcher Jordan Brown tripled to help lead the Lady Panthers in the win. Game 2 was back and forth as North Ark led early but the Lady Panthers rebounded and went on to win 11 to 7 to earn the sweep. Sophomore Traci Pletcher went 2 for 4 and scored 2 runs and Jordan Brown went 2 for 3 scoring 3 runs in the nightcap.
Lady Panthers suffer setback in Home Opener
The Lady Panthers had their 2011 home opener on Sunday against Benedictine. The Ravens won Game One 9 to 3 and Game Two 9 to 0 in five innings. Kyllie Sill went 2 for 3 with a walk for the Panthers in Game One. In Game Two Mary Ann Greer and Jessica Dale each had one hit.
